UGC Proposes Unified Admission Portal for Central Universities from 2024

The University Grants Commission (UGC) is considering the implementation of a common counselling system for undergraduate admissions to central universities (CUs) starting from 2024. The main idea behind this proposal is to create a unified portal where aspiring students can apply to multiple central universities at once, instead of going through separate application processes. In the most recent instance, the CUET-UG 2023 results were delayed due to the extensive nature of the examination. With 841 question papers being used in various languages, processing and finalizing the results took considerable time to ensure accuracy and avoid errors.
